City Tall Weed Ordinance

City takes proactive approach in the battle against high weeds and grass

Indianapolis- The Office of Code Enforcement is attempting to stay ahead of the high grass and weed problems that occur starting at this time each year. Property owners are reminded that landscaping is important to the neighborhood quality of life. Over 4,700 advisory notices have been mailed to property owners that had cases opened in 2008.

Recent changes to the ordinance now allow the city to aggressively take action against property owners who fail to keep their properties free of high grass and weeds after just one notice. If no action is taken, the City will then clean up the property and send the owner the bill.
