Summer Courses at INRC

If you have not been able to attend any of the summer 2009 classes at INRC there is still time! Please check out the remaining courses in June listed below. All classes will be held at INRC, 1802 N. Study Circles Information Session: Tuesday, June 23, 6:00-7:30pm

Connections. Conversation. Community. Action. Over the past nine years, thousands of Indianapolis residents have joined their voices to make things happen, to make their voices matter through Study Circle discussions and resulting projects. Whether it is by celebrating a shared identity, restoring peace in a neighborhood, or lifting up the powerful voices of youth, Study Circles have been used to make a positive impact in our neighborhoods by engaging residents and harnessing their collective energy. Come learn about Study Circles and how you can implement one in your neighborhood.

Great Stories! How to Present Your Results:

Part One: Introduction to great presentations: Thursday, June 25, 6:00-8:30pm

Part Two: Presenting and Feedback: Thursday, July 16, 6:00-8:30pm

As our neighborhoods engage their residents to see change, more and more of them have great outcomes and stories that need to be told. INRC realizes the impact that great stories can have to inspire, motivate and encourage others to seek change in their communities. Come learn how to present your success stories to a broader audience and gain useful tools for designing your presentation. Participants of Part One will return to make presentations, and receive feedback on how to enhance your presentation.

Digital Storytelling: Tuesday, June 30,6:00-8:30pm

Digital Storytelling is a powerful and accessible media that gives neighbors a dynamic platform to advocate for change, promote celebration, and exhibit community identity. This Digital Storytelling course will provide participants with an introduction to many of the free resources necessary to create digital stories. In addition, participants will walk through the steps of successfully creating a moving digital story. Through this course, participants will walk away with the skills and knowledge to create digital stories to be shared for years to come!
