KIBI Summer Volunteer Update

Join Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. this summer for some great volunteer opportunities! You can do everything from improving local area school grounds to installing a biking and walking path in an urban neighborhood. JUNE

Friday, June 12th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Monon Tree Planting
Monon, between 10th and 16th Streets
Help plant trees along the Monon trail so that walker, riders and runners can enjoy for years to come!

Saturday, June 20th, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Binford Median Planting
Near 65th and Binford
Help complete the installation of over 15,000 native plants and grasses in the Binford medians, north of 65th St. This is a model project to spotlight storm water runoff management and water filtering.

Wednesday, June 24th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Project Green Schools at the International School
4330 N. Michigan Rd.
Help complete a massive beautification at the International School by planting perennial grasses, installing a fence, mulching and weeding the property.

Friday, June 26th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Project Green Schools at the Early Learning Center at Brook Park
5249 David Street North
Help this school build a vegetable garden by building raised beds, filling in the soil, and creating a tricycle trail around the property with crushed limestone.

Saturday, June 27th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Project Green Schools at St. Joan of Arc
500 E. 42nd St.
Work with this schools to build a garden and vegetable garden on top of an existing parking lot. This schools is very organized and excited to work with community volunteers!

Saturday, June 27th, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
North Square Beautification
Near Fletcher Ave. and Shelby St.
This neighborhood near Fountain Square has recently been energized by a massive beautification that they completed this spring. Help them install a crushed stone path to be used by bikers and walkers, and which will help connect them to the heart of Fountain Square.

JULY

Saturday, July 11th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Davidson Street Tree Planting Maintenance
Near E. Vermont Street and College Ave.
Help revitalize the Davidson Street corridor planted up this year and last with hundreds of native trees and shrubs. Assist with weeding and cleanup of these beds, mulching and watering.

Brightwood Community Garden
Near E. 28th St. and N. Olney
Help this neighborhood complete the creation of their community garden by assisting the in installing a fence around the perimeter of the planting site.

Project Green Schools at School #114
Near E. Raymond and Emerson Ave.
Help this school to mulch the many trees planted there last year through the Lilly Day of Service, and to assist them with weeding and maintenance of their beautification project.

Madison Avenue Tree Planting Maintenance
Near S. Madison Avenue and Morris St.
