Volunteer Opp - KABOOM

Help Build Playgrounds for Schools 31 & 39

Hello Everyone! As you may be aware, School #39 (1733 Spann Ave.) in the SECO neighborhood was selected to receive a new Kaboom playground. Lilly is the corporate funding partner and is providing 175 volunteers on their May 20th Day of Service to build the playground. SEND is the lead community partner and we are coordinating the project locally. We are working with SECO on recruiting an additional 75 community volunteers. Which is where you come in! If any of you would be able to volunteer to help build the playground on May 20th or help out on prep day May 18th, please let me know. Breakfast and lunch are provided. I’ve outlined details below:
  • We need general volunteers on prep day May 18th to help unload the trucks, inventory supplies and prep site from 8am-4pm
  • We need Build Captains to manage a team of 10-20 volunteers for May 20th, Build Captains need to attend prep day on May 18th which is when they will receive training
  • We need general volunteers to help build the playground on May 20th

There is also a Kaboom playground being installed at School #31 in Bates Hendricks with Lilly on May 20th. We may direct some volunteers to that project depending on need. The dates and times are the same.

These are great opportunities for the Southeast and we appreciate any support you can provide. If you are interesting in helping out with this project, but can’t volunteer please contact me at jrice@sendcdc.org.

Thanks!!
