Fritz Haeg is an artist, designer, architect, urban ecologist, and educator. He is the choreographer of the IMA-sponsored April 26 art parade known as East Meets West Interchange Overpass Parade. Haeg’s artworks pose questions about the experience of public and private space. His work, according to the New York Times, “carves out an intriguing niche within modern architecture, performance art, and eco-activism.” His new project, Animal Estates, is featured in the 2008 Whitney Biennial, and he has upcoming projects and exhibitions with the Contemporary Museum Baltimore, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Creative Time in New York, and Casco Projects in the Netherlands. His book, Edible Estates: Attack on the Front Lawn, was published by Metropolis Books in February, 2008.

In this Earth Day event, Haeg will discuss his working methods, sensibilities, and adventures in art.
