I have discovered a series of pictures of the Fountain Square mural painting on http://www.artdoug.com/UBN/photos.html

You have to keep scrolling through the pictures until you reach the Fountain Square Mural. You will recognize them immediately because of the big orange Fountain Square sign.

Fritz Haeg is an artist, designer, architect, urban ecologist, and educator. He is the choreographer of the IMA-sponsored April 26 art parade known as East Meets West Interchange Overpass Parade. Haeg’s artworks pose questions about the experience of public and private space. His work, according to the New York Times, “carves out an intriguing niche within modern architecture, performance art, and eco-activism.” His new project, Animal Estates, is featured in the 2008 Whitney Biennial, and he has upcoming projects and exhibitions with the Contemporary Museum Baltimore, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Creative Time in New York, and Casco Projects in the Netherlands. His book, Edible Estates: Attack on the Front Lawn, was published by Metropolis Books in February, 2008.

In this Earth Day event, Haeg will discuss his working methods, sensibilities, and adventures in art.

IMA "On Procession" Parade

Community "paint out"
***
SUNDAY, APRIL 13
12:00-3:00 pm

Here is a chance for the entire community to be a part of the IMA Art on Procession Parade on April 26:

A group called Us By Numbers , headed by Doug Arnholter (http://www.usbynumbers.com) has put together a mural project for the Fountain Square community, designed to be presented at the Art on Procession Art Parade on Saturday, April 26. But first...

...it must be painted BY the community! That's where we all come in. I'm trying to put together, as Doug calls it, a community "paint out" on SUNDAY, APRIL 13 from 12:00-3:00 pm.

We want to give folks a chance to participate in an inaugural project for community pride, service and fun. This is a 4' x 40' canvas imprinted with digitally reproduced images of Fountain Square, which have been transferred to a paint-by-number format. It's fun and easy! Weather permitting, it will be unrolled and ready to work on in the main FS parking lot on Shelby Street. (in case of rain, we may be able to move it indoors). All the paints and brushes will be supplied, just come in your paintin' clothes and have a great time!

Then don't forget to see it in action at the Art on Procession Parade sponsored by the Indianapolis Museum of Art, on Saturday the 26th right here in Fountain Square!

Please feel free to forward this information and share with local churches, schools and community groups. It's short notice, but a great opportunity to participate!
