Success by Six Program

United Way Success by Six Program

Since 2006, Imagination Library has started more than 20,000 children on the road to becoming strong readers! We want the parents of preschool age children to know we're making some changes in the program. If you want to make sure that your preschooler continues to receive great books all year long, please act by April 30!

Our new home library program is called the Early Readers Club. By registering, your child(ren) will continue to receive 12 high-quality, age-appropriate books a year.

What to expect: In June, you will receive the final Imagination Library book. In July, everyone who has registered for Early Readers Club will receive three books, mailed to their home.

How it works: Eligibility. Families with young children under age 6 who live in Hancock, Hendricks, Marion and Morgan counties are eligible.

Registration. You can sign up at www.uwci.org/erc. Each year, you will have an opportunity to continue with the program. When a child celebrates their 6th birthday, their membership will end automatically.

Book Distribution. Three-packs of books will be mailed to children's homes four times a year: July, October, January and April.

Cost. The cost of the program for a full year is only $20 a child, or about $1.67 per book! We ask the fees be paid for the full year. Scholarships for free books will be granted upon request. We also welcome tax-deductible contributions to help offset the costs of scholarships.

Extras! Each child will receive a free storage trunk where they can proudly store their own "library."

Also new: parents can look forward to tips about getting their children ready for kindergarten. You MUST register for the Early Readers Club even though you are now registered for Imagination Library. We MUST receive your registration by April 30th if your child is to receive books in July. Please visit www.uwci.org/erc to register or for more information.

Sincerely,

P.S. Act soon! Families who register for the Early Readers Club by April 1 will be invited to a special launch party at the new Central Library in Indianapolis on April 20!
