Indy BANG! presents Indy’s Business and Arts Networking Get-togethers - bringing together business and arts professionals for their mutual benefit and to support our community.

This month’s business and arts speaker will be Andrew J. Lyon. He is the Founding President of the Circle City Chamber Group and oversees all aspects of the organization, including fund raising, event planning/management, planning and development, as well as being the Music Director & Conductor of the Circle City Chamber Group Chamber Orchestra. The group’s events offer guests the opportunity to experience visual, musical and culinary arts in a relaxing environment, while also meeting and networking with representatives from many of the city’s great businesses. Through these events the Circle City Chamber Group works to help strengthen downtown-Indianapolis commerce as we spark interest in the various arts in the minds of guests who might not already have an on-going relationship with the arts. The concept for the CCCG’s events was developed while Lyon was completing his Masters degree (Orchestral Conducting) at Butler University and working security for nightclubs and taverns in Indianapolis. Lyon also works as the President of Lyon Distribution, Inc (a sheet music distribution company); as Director of Development and Public Affairs for the International Conductors Festival in Kiev, Ukraine (during which he also appears as one of four featured American conductors); and, a saxophonist of 20+ years, also works with area students teaching saxophone and music theory.

Andrew will lead a discussion about “Pop Culture vs Sustainable Culture: The State of the Arts In A City That Is Focusing On Everything But the Arts”.

This month’s cultural speakers will be Paul Bowman and Carol Boller, employees of the Slippery Noodle Inn. Paul will talk about Slippery Noodle’s Cuisine and Daily Luncheon specials, Carol will lead a tour after the luncheon and speak about Inn’s 150 year history.
