Simple Living Event

12/22/08 Potluck with Indy Food Coop, bluegrass music, you & Simple Living Group of Indianapolis

You are invited to a potluck put on by Simple Living Group of Indianapolis at the Wheeler Art Center’s Theatre (Fountain Square - 1035 Sanders Street, Indianapolis) at 6:30 p.m. (setting up at 6 PM) on Monday December 22, 2008.

A representative of Indy Food Coop will share news of its founding a community-owned grocery store in the Near Eastside of Indianapolis. All attendees will have the chance to share their tips, questions and opportunities on simple living. Guests are invited to speak up to one minute on their ideas about vegetable gardening, edible landscaping, waste avoidance, communities,reduction of ecological footprint (carbon footprint is an aspect),book titles, organizations, events, and visions for environmental sustainability.

Schedule:
6:00 PM Set up tables, chairs, tableware, food, and information materials.
6:30 PM Musical performance. Set up tableware, food and info. materials.
6:50 PM Convocation. Dining as musicians perform
(please consider donating to the band).
7:20 PM Representative from Indy Food Coop speaks.
7:30 PM Attendees share their tips, questions and opportunities on simple living.
8:00 PM Improvisation. Examples of options: share raps, poems, and songs; informal small group discussions; departures, and clean up.
8:30 PM After clean up, do we continue discussions or other activities? If so, negotiate a location or locations.

Items sought for the pitch-in meal:
bread, vegan refried beans (if necessary, bring a can opener), peanut butter, vegetables, salad, paper plates, napkins, other food – particularly locally grown, silverware, cups, beverages, real tableware.

Please give us a heads up on what you will supply. Please try to bring your own reusable tableware (even though most will be supplied) to minimize waste. Posting of ingredients, where they came from and name of cook is appreciated.
