Since 1993, the Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) have been engaged in the Bridges To Success (BTS) initiative. In 2007, significant changes were made to focus the work of BTS on student academic achievement.

To support this new direction, Indianapolis Public Schools and United Way of Central Indiana are jointly establishing the IPS Community Education Forum as a way to increase collaboration between the district and the many community partners that influence the academic success of IPS children.
