Indianapolis Water customers may notice slight change in drinking water
In the coming weeks, Indianapolis Water customers may notice a slight difference in the taste of their tap water as the result of annual maintenance work on the area’s water distribution system.
Veolia Water Indianapolis (VWI), the operator of Indianapolis Water, will temporarily change the type of chlorine used to disinfect the drinking water that is delivered to customers’ taps beginning Jan. 19 and lasting through the end of March or early April. This change is made on an annual basis to optimize water quality in the city’s drinking water distribution system throughout the year. The change will remain in effect until the completion of a capital project to improve the system’s infrastructure.
