Indianapolis Land Bank Website

Indianapolis has a land bank...

with 97 parcels and has sold 35 since May, 2007. Now a website has been designed to help reduce the number of abandoned homes in blighted neighborhoods.

The website provides a greater opportunity for the city to market properties to neighbors, nonprofits, community development corporations and developers. This allows vacant and abandoned properties to be redeveloped and placed back on the tax roles with clean titles.

Crime Prevention Initiative

Mayor Greg Ballard Announces
New Funding Opportunities for Crime Prevention

Mayor Greg Ballard in partnership with the US Attorney's Office and the Criminal Justice Institute announced today the availability of new funding opportunities for crime prevention as a result of federal and local collaboration.

For more background information about the Comprehensive Anti-Gang Initiative (CAGI) and grant application and submission details, please refer to the Criminal Justice Institute's website: www.in.gov/cji or the City of Indianapolis' homepage: www.indygov.org.

Funding for this first phase of Mayor Ballard's comprehensive crime prevention initiative is made possible by a $2.5M grant from the US Department of Justice.

Indy's Hometown Tourism Expo to Draw Local and Regional Visitors

WHAT
As the summer travel season launches, city leaders are responding. Representatives from the city's various international and ethnic festivals, along with local attractions, hotels, event and other festival organizers, restaurants and other representatives will be on hand to share info on what's to do in Indy this summer.

"Indy's Hometown Tourism Expo featuring Toro Fast Track Race on the Circle" will help locals become well-informed ambassadors for the city's many ethnic festivals and tourism offerings, enabling them to make vacation plans in Indy with friends and family. Tourism and Festival leaders will offer information, deals, giveaways and other enticements in order to stimulate local patronage of all there is to do in Indy. Local residents are encouraged to come out and enjoy zoo animals, street performers, dueling pianos, racecars and more. Win fabulous prizes, including hotel stays, admission to museums, tickets to great Indianapolis events and enjoy some free Red Bull and more.
