About the play
Lenore comes to the same place each day for lunch. The office worker has chosen this solitary place because of a comfortable bench and a shaft of sunlight. Her solitude is shattered when Alan becomes part of the scene. This casual encounter develops into a friendship that encourages the pair to discuss problems in their lives. While their relationship unfolds and a seeming murder mystery develops.

Comedy Stage Play Auditions

Auditions for the Stage Actors’ Workshop production of “Indianapolis Jones - Spy Catcher” written by John Burkhart will be held Sunday, January 4, at 3 pm and Wednesday, January 7, and Thursday, January 8, at 7 pm. Auditions for the family-friendly stage comedy play will be held at the University Of Indianapolis Community Theater at the Wheeler Arts Center, 1035 Sanders Street, Indianapolis, 46203. The melodramatic comedy play requires six adult actors, all ages considered; three men and three women. Actors will read from the script. Performance dates are weekends in March . Some staff positions are also available.

Play Synopsis: Evil spy Drat Bullbreath is sending secret messages to his equally evil assistant, beautiful and dangerous Anne G. Joilie by means of letters to the advice column in the local newspaper. Ace spy catcher Morse Code is hot on the trail of the spy ring. Indy Jones, crack reporter and part time advice column editor, notices something unusual about the letters she is receiving. She confides her suspicions to her co-worker and closest friend, Debby Deadline. They discover secret documents that place them both in grave danger! Can Morse save them and the entire nation from the evil spies?

Audition Notice For “A Christmas Carol” Stage Play

Stage Actors' Workshop will hold auditions for "A Christmas Carol," the traditional Charles Dickens’ story on Sunday, November 2, at 3 pm, and Wednesday, November 5, at 7 pm, and Thursday November 6, at 7 pm. Auditions for and performances of the one-act family-friendly stage adaptation will be held at 525 N. Illinois St. in Indianapolis, 46204. The show requires four men and four women of any age, and an eight to twelve year-old male or female to play Tiny Tim/Tina. The play will be directed by Bob Rini. Adapted for the stage by Bob Rini, the play features all the familiar characters from the Dickens’ classic including: Scrooge, Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and of course the spirits. Singers and other performing artists are invited to audition for the second-act variety show. Performances will be December 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, & 28. A modern anti-war adaptation of Aristophanes' play, "Lysistrata," will open on Fri. Oct. 24 and close on November 15 at the Circle Center Mall, 4th Floor, 49 W. Maryland, presented by The Sapphire Theater Company. Shows run Thurs., Fri. & Sat. at 7:30 pm plus Sat. & Sun. matinees at 2:30 pm. PLAY "LYSISTRATA"

Lysistrata is the first production of The Sapphire Theatre Company. Lysistrata, the title character, unites the women of Athens & Sparta in an effort to save Greece. Her strategy is to take over the Treasury and protest with a sex strike. But not only do the women refuse to have sex with their husbands and lovers until they agree to negotiate peace, they dress in their sexy-best and tease the men mercilessly. And in the great tradition of Greek theatre, phalli are included. The modern adaptation of this Greek classic play brings to light the timely themes of love, democracy, war, protest, patriotism, laughter, grassroots movements, and change.

The cast: Mary Hunt, Jack O’Connor, Jane Bostwick, Eldric Harmon, and April R. Sparks are ready to entertain you in the Stage Actors’ Workshop family-friendly comedy, “The Mystery of Indygrove Manor” written by D. Chapelle. A synopsis of the play follows: The Indygrove family has been summoned to the family estate to pay their respects to wealthy matriarch Ernestine Elwonga. Meanwhile, husband Aykroyd Indygrove doesn't know who to fear more - the law or his wife. Ernestine’s allies include her beautiful ward Tillie Webshuttle and....the mysterious Phantom of Indygrove! This Halloween appropriate family-friendly for all ages melodrama is a perfect way to add more fun to your holiday season.

THE PLAY: Ralph Carter is the accomplished Program Director of The Love Liner, a cruise ship on her way to the Caribbean in the summer of 1976. Problem is that Ralph has been a little more than distracted from his job after a difficult separation from his wife of 25 years. His boss, Captain Tina Danzert, has put him on a period of probation where his work is being highly scrutinized. With two strikes against him already, Ralph makes a bad decision that threatens the premiere of the ship's new show, "Countdown to America's Bicentennial," and his job.
