Public Testimony on Smoke-free Indiana Bill

Public Testimony on HB 1213 to make Indiana smoke-free

HB 1213 is scheduled for a hearing on Wednesday, February 4th at 9:00 a.m. in the House Chambers . This bill would make all workplaces and public places in Indiana smoke-free.

Last year, this committee cut off testimony minutes into the first witness. This year, they have moved the hearing to the House Chambers to encourage public participation. That is a clear sign of progress, and we have to make the most of the opportunity.

Please attend this hearing and show that you want to protect all workers in Indiana from the 4,000 chemicals including 69 carcinogens in secondhand smoke.

Everyone deserves the right to breathe clean indoor air, but it will not happen in Indiana unless we speak out and get involved in passing this legislation.
