Making Connections Indianapolis, on behalf of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, is pleased to invite you to participate in Resident Leadership & Facilitation (RLF). This two-day training is for individuals who demonstrate the qualities of leadership in their community. You have been invited to participate in this training because of the significant role you play, now and in the future, to facilitate meetings that can lead to results which strengthen families and neighborhoods.
RLF is designed to help participants gain skills needed to facilitate successful meetings. Special emphasis will be place on the skills of listening and developing facilitation skills which lead to joint problem solving and group decisions, skills that leaders can use when difficult dynamics arise during meetings. This workshop will provide you with an opportunity to build your skills through activities, discussions, and practice sessions with a small group of your peers.
The training dates are Friday, September 11, 2009 and Saturday, September 12, 2009; all trainings will take place at Ivy Tech College, 2960 N. Meridian Street in the International Medical Group Building. Because each step of the training builds on the previous one, it is very important that you plan to attend the entire session each day. We will start each day with a hot breakfast at 8:00AM. The training will end at 4:30pm on the first day and 4:00pm on the second day. Lunch will be served on both days.
If you have special dietary requests, or are in need of other accommodations, please contact Alicia Barnett at 632-4599 or e-mail at alicia@mcindy.org . Childcare will be stipend, but will not be provided on-site, please contact Alicia Barnett for more information.
We hope that you consider this exciting opportunity; please return the enclosed application no later than Tuesday, September 8, 2009.
