"Crime prevention initiatives are a key component of our public safety strategy," declared Mayor Greg Ballard. "Our Community Crime Prevention Grants will make a difference in the safety of our neighborhoods."
The goal of the Community Crime Prevention Grant Program is to reduce crime by funding programs within designated funding categories that will fill a documented gap in existing services, and promote collaboration among existing institutions, existing programs, and efforts that involve neighborhood residents.
Community Crime Prevention Grants are awarded over a one-year funding cycle and generally focus on one of the following: ex-offender reintegration/reentry, keeping kids safe and productive, education, neighborhood mobilization/strengthening (or safe neighborhoods) or health.
