salute the heroes at 10th annual america we remember concert, fireworks display

INDIANAPOLIS ­– (June 24, 2009) The Friends of Garfield Park Inc. and Indy Parks & Recreation invite residents to pack the picnic gear and lawn chairs this Friday for a free patriotic concert and fireworks display at the Garfield Park MacAllister Center for Performing Arts.

The 10th Annual America We Remember concert will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, with a prelude by The Indianapolis 500 Gordon Pipers. The evening will include performances by the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra of “Armed Forces Salute” and “America Alive” and an “America Today” presentation by Fountain Square Academy students. A “Fantastic Fireworks 2009” show follows the musical performances.
