Stimulus Funds to Provide Meals
Indiana is getting $1.9 million in stimulus funds to provide meals to low-income seniors, Vice President Joe Biden announced today. The largest chunk — $1.3 million — is for meals delivered in group settings, such as senior centers or churches. The rest is for meal delivery programs to home-bound seniors.
The money goes to the state government, which will award the funds to organizations that provide nutrition services to seniors.
