Animal-Related Grants

Animal-Related, Education, Health, Public Safety

Maximum Grant Amount $65,000
Deadline December 31, 2008

JGA Foundation provides funding for: animal welfare; disasters, fire prevention/control; education; health organizations; and hospitals (general).

Giving is on a national basis. The foundation does not make grants to individuals. An application form is not required. Applicants should submit a copy of the IRS Determination Letter with a letter of inquiry. There is no application deadline. The foundation does not have a website at this time.

Come meet Best Friends racecar driver Andrew Prendeville and get your photo with the Best Friends Indy Lights car at Indianapolis Animal Care & Control. Andrew will be on hand to sign autographs, meet fans and encourage animal adoptions on Tuesday, May 20 from 4 – 6 PM. Animal Control & Care is located at 2600 South Harding Street.

Cats Haven Fundraiser

Cats Haven is hosting it’s first Spring Frenzy!
There will be lots of fun, food and of course—The Razman

Who:Cats Haven, a no kill cat shelter in Central Indianapolis
When:Saturday May 10th, noon to 4pm
Where:La Maison du Chat, 2603 North College Avenue, Indianapolis
Why:To raise funds for the shelter and to raise awareness of the homeless animal population in Indianapolis.

There will be no admission :
Only $ 4.00 for a burger/veggie burger, or hotdog, chips and a drink. There will be a ice cream sundae bar & baked goods for sale. There will be loads of fun for the whole family! You will be able to view a kitten nursery from the front porch windows. A Clown that does face painting, & there will short belly dancing lessons. Great Mother’s Day gifts; hand made jewelry from Gypsy Cat, beautiful photography from a local artist April Tchiguka, hand stamped cards by Rebecca. For your pets, wonderful organic products from Fuzzy Paws and so much more! Come enjoy the beginning of Spring and share your love for our furry friends! We are always in need of help and supplies at the shelter. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, there will be sign up sheet at this event. YOU can help prevent pet overpopulation. Have your pets spayed or neutered—for free—at the
Fixer Upper mobile spay/neuter clinic*,
which will visit the John H. Boner Community Center (2236 East 10th Street) on the following dates:

April 17 (Thursday)
April 24 (Thursday)
May 3 (Saturday)-- “cats only” event
May 13 (Tuesday)
June 5 (Thursday) -- “cats only” event
June 14 (Saturday)
June 19 (Thursday)
